  • Join us for a lesson in sailing an authentic Azorean Whaleboat! No experience necessary!

Registration is closed

**If you have trouble reserving a spot, try through a computer or email Lara for help: laralu78@gmail.com

An individual can row or sail up to a total of 2 times total (NOT each year) before being required to become a member and pay annual boat dues. (If you have already had 2 free rows or sails in prior years, you are not eligible for any more free rows or sails and will be required to pay membership and boat dues).

All individuals must sign a joint waiver each year before getting on our boats. Please sign the waiver ONLINE ahead of time.  If you are not able to complete it online, extra paper forms are located in the lock box at the dock.  All coxes will verify passengers have signed a waiver before taking any passengers out on the boats.

Important

- The Community Boating Center has residual COVID rules that we must adhere to. When on the dock and heading to the boat, you must wear a mask. Once we leave the dock and are out on the water, masks can come off. Of course masks are optional on the boat for the duration of the row as well.

**We now have an app that makes it easy to sign up and cancel your open rows! You can download the Wild Apricot (Member) app through the App store

Check your email (inbox and SPAM) for updates before leaving the house.

-Please be on time, 10-15 minutes early if possible. There is some prepping for the boat before it can be taken out and everyone should be there to help and learn. Leaving on time also maximizes time on the water.

-If you are not able to make it to a row that you have signed up for, please provide at least 24 hours notice so that the slot can be filled by someone else.

Signing the AMHS CBC Joint Waiver online ahead of time it’s a big help

-We recommend bringing a bottle of water, hat/sunglasses, and a pair of gym or boating gloves.

Cancellation

If you are not able to make it to a row or sail that you have signed up for, please provide at least 24 hours notice so that the slot can be filled by someone else.

Depending upon weather conditions and the number of people signed up for a row or sail, the steerer will determine whether or not it must be canceled (typically by 5pm the evening before the row or sail).

Please let us know if you have any questions. See you on the water!
